Foster care providers are essential for pets with special needs and for when we're at capacity. Fosters take pets into their homes for additional care and/or training away from the stress of the shelter environment.
Our foster homes tell us what they would like to work with: cats or dogs, contagious or non-contagious illnesses, short or long-term, etc. Once we have a profile and we've completed a home visit, fosters are contacted when a pet is ready for pick up.
While foster parents are welcome to show off their foster pets to friends and family in an effort to find the animals a home, our fosters are mostly utilized as a quiet place for pets to recover from illness or trauma, or to simply grow big enough to be placed up for adoption.
