Clicker Basics

Looking for a way to train your dog with positive reinforcement? If so, Clicker Basics is for you! Clicker training involves the use of a "marker" - or "click" to reinforce the positive behavior the owner/trainer is looking for. While the word "yes" works and is used often by trainers, it isn't nearly as effective as the clicker. At training schools where both methods are used, it has been found that dogs learn 50% faster with the clicker. Since words aren't always heard by the pet. If the owner isn't getting the desired response, the pet can mistake the emotion as negative and may even feel he/she is being punished. The mechanical sound of the clicker is always the same to the pet and therefore, can be a more reliable training tool. Aside from being a great training tool, it's fun for both the pet and the ownder!

Fee: $100 for 4 weeks, 1 night per week, clickers will be provided
($100 from the proceeds will be dontated to the SPCA)

Proof of vaccinations will be required, and pups as young as 4 months can participate!
Class will be limited to 4 dogs, and will be cancelled if it isn't full - please register early to reserve your spot!
