First and foremost, please use us as a last resort. See a checklist of things to try before surrendering your pet here.
If you are a resident of Rockingham County or Harrisonburg City, the R-H SPCA will accept your pet. We ask that you call ahead so staff can better assist you once you arrive. You will sign a legal contract formally relinquishing your rights as the owner to the R-H SPCA.
We also request that owners take the time and provide us with a cat or dog personality profile. With that information on hand, we can better match your pet to a new home.
