1. Please look through our found reports and strays in custody to see if someone has found your pet. If you see your pet on either of these lists, call us at (540) 434-5270 and we will tell you the next steps to take to reclaim your pet. We charge $8/day for each day your pet is here. This helps cover the cost of food and care they receive while they are with us. If you are reclaiming a dog, you MUST bring their current rabies certificate.
2. If you do not see your pet on either of the lists above, please fill out our lost report with your information, your pet's information, and attaching a picture is extremely helpful. We reference these files each time an animal is brought through our doors. We will give you a call if an animal matching your pet's description comes in. If you do find your pet on your own, pleasecall or email us so we can cancel your report.
1. Please look through our lost reports to see if someone is already looking for the animal. If not and you'd like to keep it while we wait for its owner, please file a found report with your information and a picture of the animal. This way, we know where the animal is and can call you if the owner contacts us. We will never share your private information without your permission.
2. If you do not want to keep it, you may bring the animal to the shelter and we'll take care of it while we wait for its owner. Please call us ahead of time and let us know when you are coming in so we can set up a kennel and be ready when you arrive. You are welcome to call and check on the animal while it's with us. If no owner comes forward at the end of its stray hold, we will medically and behaviorally assess the animal and put it up for adoption if able. Once up for adoption, you may fill out an application for the animal if you'd like to adopt it.
