Rescue Partners

The Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA proudly works with 70 (and counting) rescue group partners!
A white and orange ASPCA transport van is parked in the sunshine. Empty crates awaiting furry passengers are lined up alongside it.
It's important for us to ensure that the animals in our care are going to reputable rescue groups that share our interest in maintaining an animal's health and well-being. We ask any potential rescue group partners to be in compliance with all state and federal regulations as well as share our high standards of care for animal welfare and public health and safety.

That said, rescue groups who would like to partner with us can submit documentation so we can begin our partnership to save lives!

Rescue Partner Application

We ask potential rescue partners to submit the following documents for us to review:
  • Proof of 501(c)3 non-profit status
  • Proof of incorporation
  • Adoption application form
  • Adoption guidelines and policies
  • Adoption contract
  • Foster home application form
  • Foster home inspection form
  • Contact information for two veterinarians who have seen or treated animals for the rescue group during the past year
  • Contact information for two source shelters who have transferred animals to the rescue group in the past year
  • If based in Virginia, a copy of your most recent state vet report (VDACS). If based outside VA, a summary of previous year's animal numbers including: intakes, outcomes, adoption, carry over, euthanasia and died in facility.

Documents may be submitted by email, fax or mail. The Rescue Coordinator will contact the rescue group after reviewing the application. The RHSPCA is happy to provide any similar documentation requested by the rescue group.
