For many of our volunteers and staff, seeing Lucille go home really was a wish come true. Lucy arrived at the RHSPCA June 23rd as a skinny stray hound dog who was pretty scared of new experiences like walking on floors and through doorways. A confidence boost from volunteers really helped, and before we knew it, our Lulu had really stolen all our hearts. As shy as she was with people, she really opened up and blossomed when she played with other dogs, so we all hoped and prayed she could find a home with a canine companion. Our hopes unexpected came to fruition right before Thanksgiving when a father-son team came to meet Lucille with their resident pup in tow for a play date. Everyone got along swimmingly, and Lucille was able to head on home with her new family! Here she is with her new dad and her kennel attendants hugging her goodbye. |
