Sparky's Spirits Lifted

8/22/2016

Hi!  Just thought I'd write a quick note and pass on a few pictures of Sparky Pawastri in his new home.

His first day or so was a bit rough - it was an hour-long ride to Luray and he was totally stressed out, understandably.  But, he DID eat and roamed around a bit, finding every hiding place he could around the house.  Second day (Thursday) was much better and he actually started playing with a few toys and staying with us.

By Saturday morning, he owned the place (and us).

He's got a great cat bed but he prefers the box with a towel for short naps - except at night.  You'd think a king-size bed would be large enough for 2 people and a kitten - not always so.  He likes to sleep between us - pushing us right to the edge of the bed.  Yeah, he owns the place.
We took him to the vet on Tuesday for a quick check-up and for Dr Keller to meet him.  He also got one more shot, which he didn't seem to mind at all.  The ride to the vet (about 3 miles) was much more relaxed for him because we included one of our shirts in the carrier, and he knows us a lot better than he did a week ago.  On the way back we just left him to roam in the van - he spent the whole trip home on the dashboard, watching the world go by.  He actually seemed to like the ride.  Once home, he checked out his food dish (surprise, surprise - he eats everything in sight, including stealing a chicken nugget from my plate Sunday - - ran like the wind so he could keep it) and his toys - all was in place (of course) so he spent the rest of the afternoon  relaxing.

Yeah, life is good!!
